101st KofC STATE CONVENTION
CONVENTION ARTICLE
2003-5
If you are coming
to the convention and want to have a good time (and I know you
ladies read this) you need to get your wife and family involved
in the convention events. Saturday is a great chance for the
ladies to get together with friends from the local council, friends
from the local district and friends from local chapter. It is
also a chance to meet and make new friends from all over California.
Who knows, you might meet an old, but not forgotten neighbor
or classmate. Mary Ann Rodriguez, the force behind our State
Deputy Robert Rodriguez has a most excellent adventure planned,
"An Angels Picnic" on May 17, 2003 at the Doubletree
Ballroom. Doors will open at 11:30, lunch will be served at
12:00 Noon and entertainment will be provided.. This is really
a great chance for the ladies to mingle, eat a great lunch and
make new friends and really enjoy the day. Just think the ladies
are having a good time, while we are attending the meeting and
listening to speeches. Where would you rather be? (Right, I'm
with you.) Recommended attire is something patriotic. No not
something from 1776, although that would be perfectly OK. How
about something RED, WHITE AND BLUE. Surely you have a combination
of these colors in your closets. But of course, ladies are welcome
to attend in any attire they feel comfortable with. For $26.00
you get a great Angel's lunch, entertainment, door prizes, raffles
and have a really good time in the Garden of Eden with Mary Ann's
Angels.
As you all know the
success of the Convention depends heavily on the quality of the
Souvenir book and its' sponsors. Each Council, Assembly, District
and each Brother Knight is encouraged to promote your organization
in the souvenir book. Use the space to recognize your Council,
Assembly, District and the officers or past members who have
had a positive effect on the Order. The cost is really reasonable.
This is a chance to show your support for our State Deputy and
State Council. See you at the convention.
